Moving From NYC to North Carolina
If you are considering moving from NYC to North Carolina you may have to
get ready to face some relatively mild changes. Not saying that North
Carolina is a bad place to live because it’s not, I ‘m just saying that
moving from up north to down south can take some getting use to especially
when it comes to the climate in North Carolina. When describing the
climate in North Carolina you may find it useful to use the three
geographical divisions of the state. The coastal plains climate is
influenced by the Atlantic Ocean; as a result the temperatures are mild in
the winter and moderate in the summer.
This region only gets one inch of snow annually
and they are lucky if they get that because some years they have no snow
at all. The Piedmont region is also influenced by the Atlantic Ocean and
as a result it has the hottest summers and colder winters than the coast.
The Piedmont averages eight to ten inches of snow annually. The
Appalachian Mountains are the coldest area of the state and is where
snowfall averages fourteen to twenty inches of snow a year. However, in
higher elevations you may find that they get more snow. Here is where New
York City and North Carolina differ the most and that is when it comes to
severe weather. Severe weather is not rare in North Carolina; in fact the
state averages getting hit directly by a hurricane at least once in a
decade. When you don’t have hurricanes to worry about there are tornadoes
and thunderstorms that can be dangerous at some points and times.
Moving From NYC to a Smaller Place
If you are planning on moving from NYC to North Carolina you must have
questions about the economy there so I would like to tell you a little
about it. North Carolina’s agricultural outputs include poultry, eggs,
tobacco, hogs, milk, nursery stock, cattle, sweet potatoes and soy beans.
North Carolina is also the most affected by off shoring, one in five
manufacturing jobs has been lost to overseas competition. Off shoring has
begun to affect a lot of the states on the east coast but none like North
Carolina where everyday it seems they lose another company. When it comes
to agriculture and manufacturing North Carolina has grown to be a national
leader in the agriculture, financial services and manufacturing.
Technology, Research, and Finance has been on the rise for two reasons;
one is the fact that Research Triangle Park has put information and
biotechnology industries on a steady rise since the nineteen fifties and
the other is due to Charlotte having the second largest banking industry
after New York.
Moving From NYC to North Carolina for Education
North Carolina is home to seventy four public and forty one private
colleges and universities, public and secondary public schools are
overseen by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. North
Carolina has one hundred and fifteen public school systems of which each
and every one is overseen by a local school board. When it comes to your
children, I know that making a decision on where to let them go to school
can be hard. It seems that we are always looking out for what is important
“our children”.
In North Carolina you will find that they have a
lot of different schools to choose from and if you don’t want to send your
children to public schools, they also have private school in which they
can attend. Either direction you choose to make will be a good one,
however you need to keep an open mind to all types of schools.
Moving From NYC to Destiny
North Carolina has a lot of places that you can go on vacation to with
your family. The best place of all in my opinion is the beach, the sun up
above, the sand in your toes and the wind in your hair makes you feel like
you are in paradise. Not to mention the endless view of nothing but ocean
and boats out exploring the deep blue sea. The beach is where many people
from all over like to go to just get away from the stresses of everyday
life. However, if you are not a beach person, you can always take a trip
to the mountains where you will be greeted by rolling mountain tops
covered with snow in the winter time and rolling mountain tops covered in
colors in the spring. The mountains are also known to be a relaxation
place to many of people who like to go on nature trails and white water
rafting. Moving from NYC to North Carolina can be a wonderful experience
for you and your family and I am sure that no matter where you choose to
live you will be more than satisfies with your surrounding. So go ahead
and go along with your plans on moving from NYC to destiny.
